Like I Was Saying...
So we got hit with a pretty terrible winter storm last week. It was the whole nine yards. We're talking snow, ice, and multiple single-digit days. At some point last week, all two hundred and fifty-four counties in the second largest state of the Union were under a severe winter storm watch.
It was a brutal seven days, but at times very serene and pretty. I'd never experienced anything like it in my forty-seven years.
As a family, we lucked out far better than others. We never lost water or power. None of our pipes burst, and no tree limbs fell on our house. Again, some people didn't fare so well.
We did have a couple of chances to go out do some sledding. I took the opportunity to shoot some videos and take some pictures. I cut a little video to mark the occasion.
We spent most of this weekend thawing out and being out of the house we were stuck in for seven days. Cabin fever was setting in, so we need that time away.
I'd be remiss if I didn't give Lucy some much-desrved kudos. Before the storm hit, she stocked up at HEB. I honestly thought this would be a non-event or, per the usual, the storm would last a couple of days tops.
Lucy also did a ton of research on how to survive in cold weather. We kept tweaking with weatherproofing the house. Again, I thought it wasn't going to be that bad. All this prep would be much to do about nothing, but boy was I wrong.
By day four, I knew this storm meant business.
I'm posting the video and some pictures I took during Snovid 2021.
