Like I Was Saying... I'm going to try something new today, in the vein of Dean Wesley Smith. Let's see if it works.
So today, I had to wake up early and take both Sophie and Ava, our "Pomeranian" poodles, to the vet. Unfortunately, neither of their prognosis is good. Sophie is a mess, but she's still hanging in there.
I came home and shot some video for an upcoming vlog. First, I have to get used to working with a tripod. I've been eyeing a tripod from Peak Design, but that will have to wait.
I had four goals today and only finished three.
My big goal was to clean out my office in preparation for both my "work-work" and "work." It looks pretty nice.
Mental Note: I need to print out a picture of Marcos and me at the Rouge event and fill in the frame he got me for Father's Day.
While cleaning out my office, I listened to a talk on sports photography by Jean Fruth. I picked up several tips from her talk, but the big one was to plan your shoots. For example, when I shoot Rock Rugby's games, I have a vague idea of what I'm going to photograph, but I'm usually just winging it. So yeah, I will have to get better at planning what I'm photographing.
I took Lucy to James Avery to drop off her charm bracelet to get the rainbow charm I got her for Christmas attached. She liked the charm. (Grin).
Jerry came over for our Monday night meeting; It was a good visit. We talked over our goals for 2020. I got to introduce Jerry to S.M.A.R.T goals. Jerry's goals were very vague, but we broke a couple of his goals down using the S.M.A.R.T method, and now he's got a better idea of how to set goals.
The irony is, I don't write down my goals with the S.M.A.R.T in mind. Maybe I should. It's funny when it comes to "work-work," I write my goals the S.M.A.R.T way, but not when it comes to my personal goals.
My goals are always vague and in my head. Maybe that's something I need to change, but this method seems to be working for me. Maybe.
The List is written using the S.M.A.R.T method. We'll see if that works.
The shot I took today wasn't great. It's when Lucy was walking out of James Avery, but I was sitting in the car waiting. Waiting in the car is a bad habit I have to break. You can't take good photos from the car.
