Like I Was Saying...
The other day while driving to Cloudcroft, I revisited one of Dan Milner's Q&A's.
One of the things Dan mentioned was how "fun" keeping a blog was for him.
And it got me wondering, does blogging seem fun to me?
I only ask the question because it's something I want to do but seldom do. Hell, I've wanted to keep a proper daily blog for decades.
I've always seen a blog as a creative outlet for me.
My blog would be my own digital space for my videos (though I do have a shitty channel on YouTube), pictures, writings, musings, and thoughts.
For the past couple of years, I've flirted with the idea of my blog replacing posting on Facebook. Facebook has been driving me nuts since the 2008 election when it got political.
The thing is, I don't blog as much as I want to blog. I've started and restarted this blog so many times I've lost count.
I probably could count, but the number would depress me even more.
And I know, I know, blogging is so early 2000's. Nowadays, creators should have a vlog on YouTube, post on Instagram, and dance on TikTok, or whatever the hell they do on Snapchat.
You should have a website, but that website should drive your viewers to your social media channels.
Social media is like donating to Goodwill to me, you're giving them the inventory, and they're making a killing out of it while giving back very little.
I don't track well with that idea regarding ownership of your content.
With so many facets of my creative life, I like the idea of going something, but doing it always trips me up.
So the question isn't, "is blogging fun?"
The honest answer is "no."
But I still would like to do it.
More is, if you commit to it, will it be fun?
Or even better, can you make it fun?
I think that's a question I'd like to find the answer to.
