We've been going out to Strawberry Farms out in Marble Falls on and off for several years now. It's become kind of a tradition. Lucy insists on it.
Previous trips were often pulling teeth for her. It wasn't just Marcos teenage rebellion, but I'd fight these outings as well.
I could watch other YouTube tutorials or another episode of some stupid show on Netflix, or the worst, someone was wrong on the internet.
But this year was different.
We all went without the usual rebellion that usually pops up.
Perhaps it's the knowledge that this is Marcos' last year with us before he goes off into the wild blue yonder of adulthood.
Perhaps it's the rough year we've had, and we're more of family.
Perhaps we just need more pumpkins.
Either way, a great time was had by all.
Oh, and two things, if you ever go to Strawberry Farms, be sure to grab the pumpkin ice cream. It's delicious.
And before you leave Marble Falls, be sure to grab some pie at the BlueBonnet Cafe.
