For the life of me, I don't know why seeing this many birds is so fascinating. I wasn't the only one taking pictures. A small woman had her cell phone out.
I was leaving HEB walking towards my car. The colors in the sky are beautiful. Birds swarmed. Cackle. More a whine or maybe pleading.
Before my last shot, I thought of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. I pocketed my camera and slowly backed into my car.
Once inside the safety of my car, I whisper, "aye, cucui."
And genuflected.
