Finding Ideas In Life

Like I Was Saying…

A few days ago I got contacted by a guy for a job in sales. I emailed him back today, so we’ll see where that goes.

As much as I love working with Jake, the money isn’t what I’m accustomed to, so we’ll see what happens.

Also I cut an spot today for Rock Rugby.

I took a few of the completed projects I did earlier this year and grabbed clips from those videos.

Recently I’ve head a lot about repurposing from pre-exuding work. GaryVee is a big proponent of this idea. You shoot some long form content and break it down into smaller chunks for IG and Facebook.

It makes sense, since you don’t have to reinvent the wheel and try coming up with new ideas. That can kill time, drive, and creativity.

I’m also toying with a couple of ideas on getting Jake some more junk removal business.

The one thing that popped into my head is that in a couple of weeks, Lucy is going to ask me to pull out Christmas decorations.

Now my wife likes to accumulate stuff. And awhile ago, I’d have to go digging for Christmas boxes. I hated decorating for Christmas. Well a few years ago I got smart and started putting Christmas away in my office. So now I just have to open my closet door and it takes me less than fifteen minutes to pull out the boxes.

I remembered the feeling I had when thinking of pulling  out the boxes and promising myself to clear out clutter. And the Ad was born.

Talk about repurposing life.

My big takeaway is that I’ve got to get better at shooting video. Especially action stuff.

Shooting video is my weakest link, which is bad for a guy that wants to make a living off it.

Then it happened again.

I looked up and it was late in the afternoon.

I called Lucy and she was still at school working on her room. I offered to help.

Lucy’s room looks nice. As much as complain about Lucy’s packing habits, there’s a method to her madness.

Her room is more a subtle coffee shop than class room.

Like it looks like a nice place to spend the day learning. She got paper lamps from IKEA that give off soft lighting. Strings of lights. A cozy reading area with a second hand chair (that’s comfy) and of course inspirational posters.

Lucy puts a helluva lot of work to make a place where kids want to learn.

I pass by some of the other classes and yes, the other teachers do try, but I haven’t seen another room like Lucy’s classroom.

I’m jealous of my wife’s vocation. Lucy wasn’t only born to be a teacher, but she broaches it with a labor of love.

If I could mimic that move into the things I want to do, I think I’d be farther ahead in the game.

We’ll see, but Lucy’s room is coming along swimmingly.
