I don’t remember where I read it, but you should always send a thank you email after an interview.
It makes sense. A company took its time to take a look at you. A person took time out of their day to see if you were a good fit. Sure, it’s their job, but still they gave you a shot.
What’s odd is this isn’t a common practice.
I interviewed a few people in my last job and not one person I met with sent me a thank you.
But I remember talking to my the manager that hired me on and he remembered getting my email thanking him for his time.
So send a thank you email. Since it’s not a common practice the email could keep you top of mind and maybe even be the deciding factor.
And note: if your in sales, this should be a no brainer. This is Sales 101. The job is the prospect and you’d email a prospect after a meeting right? Right?
